It can be overwhelming to start planning your landscape. Think about what you will need the most, and how you can use every part of your yard. Do you like to cook outside? Perhaps you can think better outside and occasionally bring the laptop and work there. Or are you an avid gardener with a desire to grow your own vegetables? This is the time to really think about how you would like to use the space.
It always starts with a plan. We can work with an existing design, if you have one, or we can help you with this process. Here are some examples of our past designs. We create 2D designs to get an idea of the price for the landscape project. These designs are for the contractor's use only, but can be purchased if you would want to get comparable bids from other builders. If engineering is needed, we need to outsource to a structural engineer. We do not have a landscape architect on staff.
After creating a 2D plan view drawing to make sure the layout appeals to the client, a 3D layout can be created.
Find inspiration. It starts with the base of the landscape: the patios.
Pavers continue to gain popularity. With so many choices, you can create anything from a modern to a more rustic feel.
Natural stone is always appealing. Some stone don't need a concrete base, simply a compacted base rock foundation.
Do you need to level an area to make room for the patio? A seat wall around the perimeter of the patio works well
Travertine is a natural material, while tile is man made. They are usually both squares or rectangles, set in patterns.
Secondly - do you need to add any shade or cover?
For full protection against both sun and rain, a covered roof will add an entire extra room for you to you at any time of the year.
If you don't need to cover an area entirely, you can choose to include a pergola. Although not water proof, you will still get some shade, and a structure to hang any lighting fixtures needed.
Cooking outside is a great way of enjoying both the beautiful California weather and creating a meal, all at he same time.
The best part of any yard. Plan it so you can use it as much as possible. This is our favorite addition to any yard. It can be as big as its own room, or just an extra counter with a built-in BBQ.
